LBW stands for "Leg Before Wicket" in cricket. This term is used when a batsman is dismissed by the bowler without the ball hitting the bat but instead hitting the batsman's leg before hitting the wicket. The umpire judges whether the ball would have gone on to hit the wicket had it not hit the batsman's leg first. If the umpire determines that the ball would have hit the wicket, the batsman is given out.
